Post-Genomic Perspectives in Modeling and Control of Breathing :
Home Plazza - Paris (France)
September 13 (9:00 am)-16 (noon), 2003

Since 1978 the triennial Oxford Conference series has offered a unique forum for respiratory physiologists, neurobiologists and modelers to exchange ideas and present their latest findings. This celebrated tradition has come of age in the current post-genomic era, where the intrinsic complexity of the respiratory system from genes to behavior calls for a concerted deployment of modeling and experimental approaches to elucidating the mechanisms of respiratory control at the molecular, cellular and system levels.

Relevant topics in respiratory control include (among others) the following :

  • Perspectives in integrative physiology and modeling
  • Central integration and neuromodulation
  • Rhythm generation and plasticity
  • Chemosensory transduction and signaling
  • Pre- and post-natal development
  • Post-genomic perspective (new topic)
