Thématique
Dans l’écriture des génomes, divers niveaux d’information associés à la transcription, à la réplication, à la structure de la chromatine, etc., s’ajoutent au codage des gènes. Notre objectif est d'identifier ces « écritures » superposées et les mécanismes qui les génèrent, et de comprendre leur contribution à l’organisation et à l’évolution des génomes. Dans ce contexte, nous étudions comment sont écrits dans les séquences les mécanismes impliqués dans la structure et la dynamique de la chromatine. De même, nous étudions les biais mutationnels associés à la transcription et à la réplication et comment ces biais permettent de déterminer la position des origines de réplication chez les vertébrés (http://replicor.cgm.cnrs-gif.fr/index.html). Nous poursuivons par ailleurs nos travaux concernant la détection de gènes, qui constituent le second volet de nos activités. Ce domaine a été bouleversé il y quelques années par la découverte de nouvelles classes d’ARNs non-codants qui jouent des rôles multiples et essentiels dans la cellule. Ainsi, nous travaillons à l’identification d’ARNs non-codants chez l’homme, la souris et A. thaliana (http://www.isv.cnrs-gif.fr/mc/ riboreg/index.php) ainsi qu'à à l’annotation des transcriptomes de requin (Scyliorhinus canicula) et de lamproie (Lampetra fluviatilis) ( http://www.cgm.cnrs-gif.fr/thermes/lamproie/projet_roussette2.html).
